The items listed below are often leftover from meetings, parties, and special events. We can rescue these leftovers from any type of program you are planning and then recycle, re-distribute, and re-purpose them to benefit our planet and people in need.
Food
If you are planning a catered meeting or event, there may be extra food that hasn't been served. For example, if you over-estimated the guest count or less people show up than planned, the excess food can feed people that are hungry or homeless.
Food Scraps
Leftovers that can't be donated, such as excess food from a buffet can still be put to good use. Rather than throwing this surplus out and letting it decay in dumpsters and landfills, we'll rescue these leftovers and have them converted into nutrient-rich organic compost. This, in turn, will benefit the environment by conserving landfill space and reducing greenhouse gas emissions!
Recyclables
In addition to the food, beverages also leave behind a trail that can be put to good use. For example, we'll rescue empty cans of beer and soda from a cocktail reception, then use the recycling proceeds to purchase cans of food for abused and abandoned pets. We'll even rescue leftover remnants of beverage containers such as corks and bottle caps and re-purpose them into jewelry and decorative products. Proceeds from the sale of these goods will be used to buy beverages for children that are thirsty or don't have access to a safe supply of drinking water!
Flowers & Centerpieces
Did you ever walk away from an event commenting on how beautiful the floral arrangements or centerpieces were and what a shame it would be for them to be thrown out? We'll rescue these flowers and deliver them to nearby nursing homes and hospitals to bring cheer to the elderly and children that are sick.
Candles & Tea Lights
While candles can add a touch of warmth and serenity to the overall ambiance of an event, they can also provide a much needed source of light for people in need. We'll rescue any leftover candles (used or unused) from an event and re-direct them along with other emergency supplies to families that have lost long-term access to electrical power due to a major storm or natural disaster.
Tote Bags & Duffle Bags
Tote Bags and Duffle Bags are often given out by companies that want to visibly display the name of their business or a logo to promote a new product, service, or marketing slogan. When these bags are leftover at the end of an event or trade show, we'll distribute them to children living in foster care throughout the country. The typical foster child moves an average of seven times before the age of 18. These children are taken from their homes tearful and fearful of what is going to become of them. When a social worker picks up a foster child to move them to a new home, they usually bring a black plastic garbage bag for the child to put their possessions in. We'll make arrangements to deliver these leftover tote bags to foster children so they have a more dignified way to transport the few little stuffed animals and belongings they own.
Premiums & Promotional Products
Promotional items are purchased for a variety of programs including company meetings, conferences, product launches, etc. Extra boxes of these products are often left behind at the conclusion of these events. Depending on the item, some could be very useful to families who have lost everything and are left homeless from an unexpected tragedy such as a fire or flood.
Trade Show Giveaways & Supplies
Companies that exhibit at conventions and trade shows typically have a surplus of giveaways, product samples, and supplies left over at the end of a conference. Most exhibitors either throw them out or pay to ship them back to their office or company warehouse where they just sit around and go to waste. Well, now there's a better option. Through our company, these leftovers can be delivered to relief agencies that are helping thousands of people who have lost all their worldly possessions due to an earthquake, tornado, hurricane, or other type of natural disaster.
Printed Materials
Extra boxes of brochures, catalogs, handouts, sales literature, and a variety of empty cardboard boxes are often leftover following meetings and events. What to do with them is the next question. Should you throw them out or pay to ship them back to the office or company warehouse? Well, here's another option. When we pick up the other leftovers from your event, we can rescue and recycle these items as well.
Misprinted Materials
Many people experience this at one time or another. You order a bulk quantity of giveaways for a meeting or event and they're either misprinted or the print quality is not acceptable. Rather than throwing these products out, we'll make arrangements to rescue those items that could be of use to people in need.
Hotel Room Amenities
The free bars of soap, shampoo, and unused toiletries provided for your comfort and convenience in hotel bathrooms can also be rescued and put to good use. We'll collect these items and distribute them to people that can't afford the basic necessities to keep themselves healthy and clean.
Bridesmaid Dresses
Since these beautiful dresses are usually custom-ordered to tie in with a bride's choice of colors or wedding theme, they're rarely ever worn again and usually get lost in the back of a closet or attic. We'll make arrangements to get them to underprivileged girls who could not otherwise afford a nice dress for special occasions we take for granted. These include religious ceremonies, school proms, sweet 16's, and other milestone celebrations in life.
